• Bulbs of any size and variety are suitable for pickling at home.

• Onions can be marinated whole, chopped into rings or half rings, it all depends on the method of pickling.

• The main highlight of pickling bulbs is that they have no characteristic bitterness. To get rid of it, before marinating, dab the onions with boiling water or blanch the time indicated in the recipe and only then pour the marinade. The main thing is not to overdo it in hot water, “overheated” onions become soft.

How to pickle onions at home for salads and hot appetizers with and without vinegar

Onion pickled with vinegar


• four bulbs, preferably purple;
