Lamb dishes are always nourishing and fragrant, especially when stewed with vegetables. One of the easiest to prepare and at the same time delicious dishes is lamb stewed with potatoes in a slow cooker. It is liked by almost everyone, even those who treat lamb with coolness.

It would seem that it could be simpler: cut the meat and potatoes, salt them and season, pour water, turn on the desired mode of operation of the slow cooker - and after a couple of hours everything is ready. In fact, everything is not so simple. You can cook a really tasty lamb dish in a slow cooker just knowing how to do it right.

  • Meat for quenching is not enough to choose, preferring fresh and young. We still need to properly prepare it. Cold processing involves thorough washing in warm water, as in a cold, a fatty piece of mutton cannot be washed. After the meat is washed, you need to remove the film, wiry areas, cut off excess fat. If you like the aroma of fat tail, it is better to leave some fat - with it the dish will become softer and juicier, its taste and aroma will be more saturated.
  • It is important to order the laying of products and the method of their heat treatment. Even if the dish is cooked in a slow cooker, these rules must be observed. So, first of all mutton is fried, only then you can add potatoes and simmer. For roasting, you can use fat tail or vegetable oil. The first option is more suitable for those who love lamb and eat it often. If you or one of your guests are not used to lamb dishes, it is better to use refined butter for roasting.
  • If you do not want the dish to be dry, simmer the lamb with some sauce. Preference is better to give a low-fat tomato sauce. You can use fresh tomatoes or tomato paste, diluted with water.

The technology of lamb stewing with potatoes in a slow cooker may differ depending on the model of the device itself. So, not everyone has the “Frying” program, and in fact, the programs that are the same can be called differently.

Composition:

  • lamb - 1 kg;
  • potatoes - 0, 7 kg;
  • carrots - 100 g;
  • onions - 100 g;
  • water - 0, 25 l;
  • vegetable oil - 120 ml.

Method of preparation:

  • Wash the meat, dry it, remove the film, veins, excess fat. Cut into cubes approximately 1, 5-2 cm.
  • Peel the onion, cut into half rings.
  • Peel the carrots and cut into thin strips.
  • Peel the potatoes and cut into large cubes, about the same size as the meat.
  • Pour oil into the multicooker bowl and set the “Baking” program for 25 minutes.
  • A couple of minutes after the multicooker starts to work, place the onion in it and fry it with the lid open for 10 minutes. Add meat and continue to fry all together until the end of the program.
  • Put carrots on the lamb and potatoes on top of it. Salt, season, pour in water. If desired, you can add a spoonful of tomato paste or sour cream.
  • Lower the lid and set the extinguishing program to 2, 5-3 hours.

It’s best to serve the finished dish by sprinkling it with greens. Sauce and side dishes are not required.

Mutton stew in a slow cooker with potatoes and cheese

Composition:

  • lamb - 0, 6 kg;
  • sheep cheese - 0, 25 kg;
  • potatoes - 0.5 kg;
  • onions - 150 g;
  • tomatoes - 0, 3 kg;
  • garlic - 2 cloves;
  • vegetable oil - 80 ml;
  • bay leaf - 1 pc .;
  • water - 0, 25 l;
  • fresh cilantro - 50 g;
  • salt, pepper, dried rosemary - to taste.

Method of preparation:

  • Prepare the lamb, cut into small pieces.
  • Cut the cheese into small cubes.
  • Cut the onion into thin half rings.
  • Wash tomatoes. On the side opposite the peduncle, make a crosswise incision with a sharp knife. Boil the water and dip the tomatoes in it. After 2-3 minutes, remove the vegetables, cool and remove the skin from them. Pulp cut into small cubes.
  • Chop the cilantro with a knife, setting aside a few twigs to decorate the dish.
  • Crush the garlic with a knife and cut it.
  • Peel and dice the potatoes.
  • Pouring oil into the bowl of the multicooker, start baking or frying for 20 minutes.
  • Put meat and onions in butter, salt and pepper them, fry, stirring, for the duration of the corresponding program. It is not necessary to lower the cover at this time.
  • Add tomatoes and potatoes to the multicooker container, pour in a glass of water. Lowering the lid, select extinguishing mode. Run it for 90 minutes.
  • When the sound signal announces the end of the program, add cheese to the multicooker, mix. Top with cilantro and garlic. Add bay leaf.
  • Close the multicooker and start extinguishing mode for another half an hour.

The dish has an unusual, but very delectable taste. In addition, it turns out very satisfying. It looks very appetizing too.
