We recommend a fairly easy recipe for a pie with an appetizing chicken and potato filling. An open pie with chicken and potatoes is an excellent hearty dish that is suitable for a hearty snack. It is very convenient to take a couple of pieces of this baking on the road. Such an open cake can be prepared as an additional dish for dinner, and in the morning warm up the leftovers in the microwave and have a tasty breakfast.
Ingredients for an open pie with chicken and potatoes
- 2 tbsp. flour;
- 3 chicken eggs;
- 1 \ 2 tsp. salts;
- 200 ml of sour cream;
- 1 tsp. baking powder;
- 300 g chicken fillet;
- 3 potatoes;
- 1 onion;
- 100 g butter;
- 120 g of hard cheese.

Prepare products for the pie: clean the potatoes, onions, rinsed chicken pulp. Melt a piece of butter and pour it into a bowl.
We spread to him all the sour cream. Use a spatula to mix the ingredients slightly.
Beat one (out of three) eggs and mix again.
To the mixture, sift the flour simultaneously with the baking powder. We salt.
As a result of the active kneading with our hands, we got an incredibly soft in structure dough for the pie, which absolutely does not stick to the fingers.
The bottom of a convenient form (we have a fairly standard size - 21 cm in diameter) is covered with a piece of high-quality food parchment. We transfer to the prepared form a layer of dough (commensurate with the diameter of the bottom), which we had previously rolled out with a rolling pin from the prepared dough. We form the skeleton for the future open chicken pie, not forgetting that the height of the sides should be about 4-5 cm. We prick the horizontal part of the frame with a fork: if this is not done, then the ready-made pastries are most likely deformed during exposure to high temperatures of the oven.
Cut the fillets in small pieces, put them in a bowl and salt.
There we also have a finely chopped onion.
Chopped on a large canvas grater potatoes are also added to the ingredients. We drive in two eggs. Actively mix the contents of the bowl with a spoon.
We lay out the chicken-potato filling for the pie on the dough frame. Leveling.
The final touch in the preparation will be the cheese layer: we rub large cheese, spread it evenly over the filling. Put the formed billet in a cold oven, turn on the heat, set the controller at around 180 degrees.
Exactly an hour later, we reach the finished open pie with chicken and potatoes, spread on a wooden surface, pre-releasing it from the mold.
It is enough to cool the cake slightly and you can start tasting. Enjoy your meal!
