Wipe the inside of the food container with a used piece of lemon or lime to get rid of strong odors (like garlic) before putting it in the sink.
Always cover the dishes with a loose lid when cooking chili, garlic or other strong-smelling foods. The smell can fill the whole house and then it will be difficult to get rid of it. Keep the kitchen closed and the windows wide open as an additional protection against the spread of unpleasant odors.
Carefully wipe the chopping board with a piece of lemon after cutting onions, garlic, etc., on it. This will not let the smells enter the board and stay there for a long time. Then wash the board with detergent as usual.

Clean your coffee machine every few weeks by filling the water tank with equal parts of water and vinegar and putting it on the cooking mode. Then pour clean water and put it on the cooking mode again to rinse the coffee machine. Repeat the cycle with fresh water two more times.
