Walnuts are not only a source of iodine, which has a very positive effect on the thyroid gland, but also helps to reduce blood sugar levels. Walnuts have many advantages, one of which is the stimulation of the gastrointestinal tract. They help fight chronic constipation and perfectly clean the intestines from toxins. In addition, they block the process of absorption into the blood of the so-called “bad” cholesterol, which ultimately is eliminated from the body naturally and does not clog the walls of blood vessels.

Why you should not abuse kozinaki?

Both honey and walnuts are quite a high-calorie product, the fascination with which can have a very negative effect on the figure. The energy value of kozinaks, depending on the type of honey, is about 550-700 calories per 100 g. Therefore, lovers of such a dessert very quickly gain excess weight, which they cannot get rid of for years. After all, it is very difficult to refuse kozinaks, which are often called a Georgian drug in jest.

The technology of their preparation is such that after hardening, the mixture of honey and nuts turns into a rather hard plate that can cause serious harm to the tooth enamel. Especially if the dessert is prepared industrially and contains fragments of nutshells or small pebbles. It is for this reason that it is best to cook kozinaki at home and not to heat the honey too much, which, after heat treatment, loses its softness and plasticity.

There are no special contraindications for kozinaks, but they should not be used by people who are allergic to bee products or are hypersensitive to iodine. In addition, this product is undesirable to include in the diet with diarrhea, as it can only increase.
