Double Layer Jelly with Strawberries

Double Layer Jelly with Strawberries

It is very simple to prepare two-color jelly: the main secret is to give the bottom layer a good hardening before pouring the second layer. Fruit and milk jelly create a contrasting composition in glassware, and fresh strawberries make the dessert very appetizing.

Ingredients:

Double Layer Jelly with Strawberries
  • 20 small strawberries;
  • 90 g of colored jelly in a package with a strawberry, raspberry, cherry or strawberry cousin;
  • 10 g vanilla sugar;
  • 15 g dry gelatin;
  • 1 cup low-fat milk.

Cooking

1. Wash the strawberries thoroughly and cut them in half.

2. In a small saucepan, fill the colored powder jelly with hot water. According to the instructions on the package, 90 g of the powder must be dissolved in 400 ml of warmed boiled water.

3. Wait until the red jelly has cooled sufficiently, otherwise the layers will mix. Pour it into 5 identical portions of drinking bowls in equal proportions, set to freeze in the refrigerator.

4. While the red layer solidifies (it will take 4-6 hours, depending on the quality of the powder), pour 2 tablespoons of warm water over the gelatin and wait until it swells and is saturated with water.

5. Heat the milk, add to it swollen gelatin and vanilla sugar. Optionally, you can add a spoonful of regular sugar, if you want to make the second layer of jelly more sweet. Stir gelatin very carefully so that no unsightly yellow lumps remain in the milk layer.

6. Pour the cooled milk mixture into pials on top of frozen red jelly.

7. Arrange the strawberry halves in portioned bowls with the cut upwards. Send the double layer jelly to freeze in the fridge.

8. Since the milk layer is more concentrated in the content of gelatin, a two-layer strawberry jelly will be ready in 2-3 hours.
