Waffle Fillings

Waffle Fillings

Crispy wafer tubes are popular with both children and adults. They are good in themselves, without any filler. However, with a cream, salad or other snack inside they are much tastier. Fillings for wafer tubules are most often made from milk, ordinary or condensed, butter and chocolate. Such confectionery is good to serve for tea, coffee, cocoa. But you can fill them with other products, such as fruits, vegetables, salad, pate. In this case, they are suitable for the buffet table. Provident hostess does not hurt to know a few recipes for all occasions.

Cooking Features

There are not too many traditional recipes for wafer rolls, but there are no strict canons in the preparation of fillings for waffle products. You can fill them with almost everything that is in the fridge. However, there are several factors constraining the hostess's imagination. The fact is that if you prepare the filling for the wafer tubes, without following some simple rules, instead of a tasty and crispy snack you can get a softened dough filled with some kind of spread on the plate. Such products, even if they turn out to be tasty, look unaesthetic and are unlikely to cause an appetite for your guests and family members. Therefore, some of the subtleties of the preparation of fillers for wafer tubes should still be taken into account.

  • The cream or filling for the wafer tubes should not be too liquid. So, if you decide to fill them with salad, do not add a lot of sauce there or even refuse it if the recipe allows it.
  • At the same time, the filling for the wafer tubes should not be too dry, as in this case the taste of the dish itself will suffer.
  • The dough for the waffle tubes should be made taking into account what you are going to fill them with. If you cook them for dessert, it is logical to use a traditional recipe with a high sugar content. If the tubes should be a snack, it is advisable to give preference to unsweetened dough.
  • If the filling for the tubes is juicy, it is desirable to fill it with tubes shortly before they are served at the table.
  • Traditionally, wafer rolls are filled with a pastry syringe. This method is suitable for creamy fillings. If the filler has a different consistency, it is necessary to fill them with tubing immediately, while they are still warm, because otherwise you cannot expand or collapse them without crumbling.

Keep in mind that the waffle dough can be rolled up not only with a straw, but also with a horn. In this case, the recipes for the fillings are the same as for traditional products.
