Proof of this are the real masterpieces of art, made from products by the hands of skilled craftsmen. Today, no one will be surprised by the fact that there is a somewhat unusual cake on a festive table on the birthday of a baby, something resembling his favorite toy or something original, and tasty children's salads resemble the character of a favorite cartoon, etc. What can we say about the children's table, even if we, adults, try to create something original for the New Year or Christmas table, which by its appearance will remind us of the event for which we all gathered.
Today we will learn how to cook a delicious salad called “Turtle”. Most likely, you yourself already guessed that such a salad got its name due to its appearance, however, the combination of salad ingredients can surprise even the most biased gourmets.
Recipe 1. Turtle Salad
Ingredients Required:
- chicken breast - 200 g;
- onions - 150 g;
- chicken eggs - 4 pcs .;
- apples - 250 g;
- cheese - 100 g;
- walnut (kernels) - 100 g;
- salt and light mayonnaise.
Preparation:
If this salad is meant for children, then we recommend replacing mayonnaise with sour cream.
First boil the chicken breast. In the broth, for a more intense meat taste, add 3-4 peas black pepper, celery root and parsley on a slice, bay leaf and salt. Cook the breast after boiling the broth for another 20 minutes on low heat, and let it cool with the broth. So it is well soaked with all the spices in which it will boil, and the meat will become even more tender, and most importantly, more delicious. Peel the onion and chop it finely. Put it in a small bowl and fill with boiling water for a few minutes. All his bitterness onions will release in 10 minutes. Drain the liquid, rinse the onion through a thick sieve in cold water.
Boil chicken eggs, clean and separate the proteins from the yolks. Separately, rub them on a fine grater.
Chicken fillet is already cold, so it's time to chop it into small cubes. We rub finely grated cheese, and grate peeled apples with a grater.
Walnut kernels, for a richer taste, we recommend a little fry in a dry frying pan. Leave a few kernels aside for decoration, and grind the rest in a nut mill.
Take a flat plate and lay out a layer of grated proteins in the form of an oval. Then we put the chicken fillet cubes on the protein and grease with butter. Once again - if the salad is for children, then replace the mayonnaise with sour cream.
On a layer of mayonnaise lay out chopped onions, and on top a layer of apples. Lubricate with mayonnaise and gently level. A thick layer of mayonnaise should not be applied, our ingredients and so well soaked. Now we will set aside a tablespoon of grated cheese to the side, and the rest will be applied as the next layer of our salad. Finely lubricate again with mayonnaise. Sprinkle with grated yolks and smear with mayonnaise. As you understand, we must form the body of the turtle. Sprinkle it with ground walnut kernels.
Now attach to the torso legs. We will have whole nuts as paws. From the cheese we form the head of a turtle, and we attach the eyes using peas of black pepper or pieces of black olives.

Recipe 2. Turtle Salad
Ingredients Required: - red fish - 0.5 kg;
- cheese - 50 g;
- Apple - 1 pc .;
- chicken eggs - 4 pcs .;
- green onions - 2 pcs .;
- prunes - 100 g;
- walnuts - 100 g;
- mayonnaise.
Preparation:
Put all the ingredients in front of you. Prepare a suitable dish so that you can comfortably form a fabulous tortoise on it.
Boil hard-boiled eggs, peel them from the shell and cut it in half. One half of the egg we need to put aside - this is the future head of a turtle.
The rest of the eggs - separate the whites from the yolks and separately skip them through the small grater.
Lay out the first layer of our salad - grated protein. Give the layer an oval shape, like a turtles body. Smear the protein with a thin layer of mayonnaise.
Next - finely chop young onions with feathers. Layer on mayonnaise. Now we crush meat of red fish with small cubes. This layer will turn out to be thickish - it should be so. Smear neatly with mayonnaise.
Now it's the turn for the grated yolk. Distribute it neatly and you can draw mayonnaise with a mesh on top. In principle, smearing mayonnaise on a grated yolk is a bit heavy, so let's go to the trick, and draw a thick mesh. Thus, we will not destroy the design of the salad. Now on the line is a layer of grated apple. Gently rub it on the shallow side of the grater and lay a layer of mayonnaise. Smear again with mayonnaise. Now the body of the turtle is sprinkled with grated cheese, not only on top, but also on the sides. Again we apply mayonnaise with a mesh.
Prune pre-soak in a mug of hot water for 15-20 minutes so that it softens well. Now we will cut it in small pieces and evenly distribute the “body”.
Fry walnut kernels in a hot frying pan. Let it cool, and lay out the tortoise shell.
In the half of the egg, which we laid aside, we will make holes for the eyes, tongue and nose. Paste the nut pieces into them. We will lay out the border around the turtle with fresh greens or green cucumber.
