Some housewives brew the so-called “black currant jam”, which allows you to store the finished product even at room temperature. But the classic currant jam is usually prepared from berries ground with sugar - it is in this form that the black currant retains all its beneficial properties, since it does not undergo any heat treatment.

You can cook jam with different inclusions of sugar: if it is stored in the refrigerator, berries and sugar are taken 1: 1, but for storage in the cellar sugar will need 2 times more, that is 1: 2.

  • black currants - 1 kg;
  • sugar - 1 or 2 kg.

1. Currants need to be washed thoroughly, and then shed in a colander to glass all the water. If the berries are with leaves or twigs, they should be removed.

3. You can grind berries with sugar either manually or in a blender or in a meat grinder.

4. We put frayed berries in the refrigerator for the night, and in the morning we mix well with a spoon to dissolve all the grains of sugar. As a result, currants, ground with sugar, should acquire a uniform consistency.

5. Sterilize the jars, carefully wash the plastic covers.
