If you think the fish casserole tastes dubious, then you never cooked it from pollock. This fish “sounds” best in the form of a casserole. Slices of pollock mixed with colorful vegetable set, poured with cheese sauce, sour cream and eggs. Such fish appetizer has a presentable appearance, and its taste is a fancy mixture of subtle nuances. Vegetables and fillets are soaked with sour cream, the cheese hardens with a ruddy crust, eggs tie together all the ingredients. Pieces of fish are plentifully poured with Italian herbs, and the pollock acquires an unusual piquancy.
Ingredients for Fish Casserole
- 1 kg of pollock;
- 250 g of frozen vegetable mix (in our case it is green peas, asparagus beans, carrots, corn, Bulgarian pepper);
- 1 onion;
- 3 eggs;
- 80 g cheese;
- 2 tbsp. l 15% cream;
- 1 tbsp. l sunflower oil;
- 1 \ 2 tsp. salts;
- 1 tsp. Italian herbs.
Method of cooking fish casserole with vegetables and cheese sauce
Pollock defrost and mine. Each fish is cut along the ridge, we separate the fillets. For our casseroles of pollock do not need whole large layers of fillets: the pulp is separated from the skin and bones in any convenient way.
Sprinkle fillets with Italian herbs and salt. Mix the prepared pieces of pollock.
Lubricate the bottom and sides of the ceramic mold with sunflower oil. Onions cut into plates, line the bottom of the form.
Sprinkle onions with frozen vegetables, sprinkle with sunflower oil.
We spread a layer of fillet of pollock, leveled. Fish put overlap.
Evenly distribute the remaining vegetables. The mixture does not need to be thawed and washed.
Grind hard cheese for casserole on a coarse grater. Cheese should be of medium salinity.
We break 3 large eggs, combine them with grated cheese.
Add sour cream and Italian herbs. We do not add salt cheese, we count on the salinity of the cheese.
Fill the pollock fillet with cheese mixture.
Shape with fish casserole covered with foil and set in a hot oven at a temperature of 180-190 degrees for 40 minutes. Foil removed from the form after 30 minutes. The readiness of fish can be judged even by an appetizing smell, it will leak out of the oven and float around the room.
Pollock, baked with vegetables, lift with a spatula and transfer to a plate. In appearance, the fish casserole will look like a cake that can be cut into slices of any size.

Serve the casserole on the table with lettuce leaves and fresh tomatoes, portion slices can be sprinkled with flax seeds.
