Simple Orange Jam Recipe

Method of preparation:

Orange Lemon Jam

Composition (for 0, 75 l):

  • oranges - 1 kg;
  • lemon - 1 pc .;
  • sugar - 0.5 kg.

Method of preparation:

  • Wash well and dry oranges and lemon with a napkin.
  • Using a grater, remove the zest from citrus fruits, temporarily set it aside.
  • Fruits disassemble into slices. Clean them of films and stones. This process is time-consuming, but it allows you to get an orange jam of a delicate texture. It is not necessary to ensure that the orange slices remain whole, then you will still grind them.
  • Place slices of oranges and lemon in an enamel bowl or stainless steel bowl. Due to the fact that aluminum, when in contact with acids, emits harmful substances, kitchen utensils from this material cannot be used to make orange jam.
  • Pour citrus slices with sugar. Store for several hours in the fridge so that a lot of juice stands out.
  • Add the zest, stir, put on the fire.
  • On a fast fire, bring to a boil. Turn down the heat. Boil 40 minutes on low heat, as necessary, removing the foam.
  • Grind with a dipping blender. Bring to the boil again, cook for 5 minutes.
  • Fill the sterilized jars with jam, roll them up or spin them with screw caps. Do not forget to boil the lids.

After cooling, jars of orange jam can be put in the closet, as the product is well kept at room temperature.

Orange jam with brandy

Composition (for 1, 25 l):

  • oranges - 0, 75 kg;
  • lemon - 1 pc .;
  • water - 0, 62 l;
  • cognac - 80 ml;
  • agar-agar - 12 g;
  • sugar - 0.5 kg.

Method of preparation:

  • Wash, dry fruit. Remove from them a thin layer of peel, trying not to capture the white layer. Cut the zest into small pieces and place in a saucepan.
  • Disassemble the fruit into slices, peel off the stones and films, put the flesh to the zest.
  • Pour fruit slices and zest with clean water in the amount of 0.5 liters, leave for a day in a cool place.
  • Draw an infusion into the basin where you will make jam. Chop the bulk of the blender, put in the bowl, where the orange infusion.
  • Add sugar and cook 30-40 minutes after boiling. Do not be lazy to remove the foam.
  • Fill the agar-agar with the remaining water, wait 10 minutes.
  • Bring the liquid with agar-agar to a boil and boil a little until the composition looks like jelly.
  • Pour into a bowl with jam, mix. Boil, stirring, until the jam thickens.
  • Pour in brandy, cook for 1-2 more minutes, remove from heat.
  • Distribute hot jam to prepared cans, close them tightly.

After cooling, remove the jars of jam in the place where you usually store supplies for the winter.
