Chicken is one of the most popular foods among meat eaters. Many people choose this type of meat because it is relatively affordable for the middle strata of the population. Others buy chicken because it is included in the category of so-called diet products. And one more indisputable plus of chicken meat is that it is very tasty! Especially if the chicken is baked. But how to do it right?
The secret of success is in keeping the required baking time and the right temperature
As in other dishes, the time and temperature of roasting are fundamental factors. You can bake a whole chicken in different ways: in a foil, sleeve or just on a baking sheet. For cooking, you can choose an oven, microwave, aerogrill or even a slow cooker. Each of these options involves a special approach in terms of temperature and cooking time.
At what temperature to bake chicken
Before you put your future culinary masterpiece in the oven, you need to warm it up to 200 degrees (ten minutes for warming up will be enough). The temperature of roasting chicken in the oven is on average 190 degrees. By the way, if you want the chicken to turn out with a fragrant crispy crust, you can take it out of the oven 10-15 minutes before the finish and move it to the grill. In order not to lose time after cooking for butchering the carcass, this can be done before placing the chicken in the oven. Separate the chicken pieces at your discretion and also place them in a foil or bag. The temperature at the same time will need to be set to 180 degrees. If you are a fiery fan of aerogrill, then when baking the whole chicken, you should set the temperature to 200 degrees. If the chicken is divided into parts, the baking temperature can vary from 220 to 260 degrees.
Chicken meat can be baked and in the microwave. To do this, if you want to bake the whole carcass, set the power of the stove to 700 watts. The cut chicken is baked with a power of 800 watts.
A universal and rather simple variant of roasting a chicken can be roasting in a multicooker, where the temperature is set automatically: just select the “Baking” mode - and you will be happy!
Chicken roasting time
Of course, when choosing the time of roasting our “fritters”, we should also pay attention to the size of the carcass. If it is an adult whole chicken, you need to bake it longer - up to one and a half hours in the oven or one hour in the convection oven at 200 degrees (if you are very hungry, you can reduce the cooking time and raise the temperature to 250 degrees - so you win as many as 20 minutes!). A small chicken is baked in the oven much faster - 50 minutes, and in sliced form - from 30 to 40 minutes.
The dish will taste better if ...
- To pick up marinade with chicken, which will give it an extra flavor. As a marinade, you can use any unrefined butter or yogurt, adding spices and vegetables. Just do not overdo the chicken in the marinade so that it does not lose its taste!
- Add her juiciness. Chicken breast suffers especially dryness if the temperature and time are incorrectly calculated during baking. To avoid this, you can add bacon or a little bacon to the dish. They will saturate your chicken and give it even more juiciness. If there is neither one nor the other, add the butter, cut it into small pieces. It is better if the oil is fragrant, with the addition of spices and herbs.
- Pre-lubricate the meat with honey and mustard, which is guaranteed to provide you with the finest crisp crust. Sour cream will be suitable for these purposes, but do not overdo it with the applied layer - it should be light. In no case do not coat mayonnaise chicken - this ingredient is used optionally after cooking.
- Bake in a test young chicken weighing less than one kilogram. The dough will make meat tender and easy to taste. Usually, the dough after cooking it does not eat chicken, but ... the rules exist in order to break them, right?
In general, try, experiment and enjoy the result, and your table, regardless of whether you eat breakfast, lunch or dinner, will always be truly festive and appreciated by all members of your family!
