The most commonly used food is ripe bean seeds - beans. Of them prepare salads, lobio, they are added to soups.

Young beans in the pods are eaten much less often, probably because it is not so often found on sale. But it is very useful, nutritious and tasty.

Vegetable varieties are suitable for eating green bean pods. They differ from cereals in the absence of a parchment layer, non-rigid fiber along the seam and quick-cooking. Although there are varieties of beans that are between the sugar varieties and shelling, grown for grain.

Immature green bean pods are suitable for freezing, in which the leaves are so soft and tender that they can be easily pierced with a fingernail, and if you look at them through the light, you will not see the grains - so small. Pods prepared for freezing are sorted out by discarding overripe or damaged by pests.

Then the pods of beans are washed under running water, dried, spreading on a towel in a single layer.

The pods break off hard tips and remove the vein connecting the two halves of the pod.

Since the pods of beans grow to a length of 15 cm, it is desirable to cut them into such pieces, which are most often used in recipes.

Now the beans are ready to freeze.

How to freeze fresh string beans

The green beans prepared and cut into pieces are laid out on a tray in a single layer and placed in a freezer for primary freezing.

After a few hours, the pieces of beans are placed in plastic bags, they are well tied and put back into the freezer for permanent storage.

How to freeze blanched green beans

Prepared as described above, green beans are dipped in boiling salted water and blanched for 3-5 minutes. Then using a colander, the pods are removed from the pan and immediately dipped in very cold water to cool quickly. This must be done in order to keep the pods green.

After that, cooled beans spread on a towel and dried.

Dry beans are laid out in any container suitable for freezing, they are well closed and placed in a freezer. Frozen in this way beans is a semi-finished product, so when cooking it, you will need to cook, stew or fry it.

How to freeze boiled green beans

Prepared green beans are dipped in salted boiling water and boiled for 15-20 minutes until cooked.

Then put the boiled pods into a colander, wait until all the water has drained, and then pack them into plastic containers or plastic bags.

Well-knotted bags are placed in the freezer.

Frozen boiled green beans after thawing does not require boiling and can be immediately used as food. For example, put in a salad or microwave in a microwave and serve as a side dish.

Green beans are defrosted in the refrigerator or boiled without defrosting.

If the freezer is set at a sufficiently low temperature and the freezing rules are not violated, then the frozen green beans can be stored without loss of nutrients until next harvest.
